SPOTLIGHT ON: Sacristan

The ministry of the sacristan is to care for the altars, sacristy, tabernacle, linens, albs, vessels, candles, and general church area used in worship.  This “behind the scenes” ministry includes changing out and cleaning the altar linens, laundering the albs, changing out the candles, plus ordering candles and other miscellaneous items uses for Masses and other liturgical celebrations.  The sacristan assists the priests and volunteers to ensure that all materials are ready and available when needed.

Adults and youth of the parish are invited to serve in this ministry.  Much of the work is done on Saturday mornings in preparation for weekend Masses, with extra work involved with Lent/Easter and Advent/Christmas preparations.  All interested volunteers are invited to call the parish office at 946-1675 for more information.
