SPOTLIGHT ON: Kids Praising God Club (Children’s Choir)

Young children, in their own fashion, infuse us with a festive joy and praise God. The Children’s Choir, also known as the Kids Praising God (KPG) Club, is open to children from 2nd-5th grades.  They rehearse weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:00PM and lead the congregation in singing at one Mass every month, rotating among the different weekend Masses throughout the school year.

For more information, please contact the parish office at 946-1675.

SPOTLIGHT ON: Ushers and Greeters

Greeters and ushers

The Usher/Greeter ministry extends a warm hello to all those arriving for Mass on weekends and assists people in finding a place to sit while attending Mass or other church services.  If there are materials to be handed out to the congregation, questions to be answered by those entered the church, or directions needed, Users will assist.  In addition, if someone attending mass needs to have the Holy Eucharist brought to them because they are unable to walk to the sanctuary, Ushers will alert the presiding priest of this need near the end of Communion time. The Ushers/Greeters are also responsible for collecting offerings from the congregation during Offertory along with other volunteers.

Men and women of the parish, including high school students, who have a willing smile to share, are familiar with the physical layout of the church, and enjoy welcoming others can volunteer for this ministry.  It can be a great way to meet other parishioners!  A training session is offered various times throughout the year.

For more information, please contact the parish office at 946-1675.

lectorLectors serve as readers of the Word of God at each Mass and other liturgical services throughout the year.  The Word of God, as proclaimed in the sacred Scripture, lies at the heart of our Christian life and is integral to all liturgical celebrations.  The minisntry of the Lector is important to the life of the Church, as people are called to faith and love as the words from Scripture are heard.

Men and women of the parish, including high school students who have been Confirmed, are invited to serve as Lectors.  This ministry provides an opportunity to serve others using clear speaking skills with an emphasis on reverence for the Scriptures that are being read.  Serving in this ministry builds confidence in speaking before a group of people.  Anyone interested in being a Lector is invited to call the parish office (946-1675) for more information.
