CANCELLATIONS

Hello Everyone! I am sorry to say, but our Parish Mission this next week has been CANCELLED due to health and safety concerns over the coronavirus. Your health and well-being are always of primary concern to us as well as your spiritual well-being. So the Parish Mission, Lenten Soup Suppers and the Stations of the Cross are cancelled for the rest of Lent. Mass is still being offered currently, but as always, please keep yourself and others safe by staying home if you are sick or have been around someone who has been sick and please wash your hands frequently. You can find more information on the diocese’ policy on this at their website https://yakimadiocese.org/2020/03/11/bishop-tyson-directives-for-covid-19-coronavirus/

Time for Lent!

Lent is here and there are so many things that we can do to better ourselves and to really enter into the spirit of Lent as we are called to do every year.

Here at Christ the King we have numerous opportunities to avail yourself not only of the sacraments, but fellowship, learning and guidance during the season of Lent.

Daily Mass is offered at 6:30am, 8am and 5:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Every Friday during Lent– Mass at 5:30pm, Soup Supper at 6pm and Stations of the Cross at 6:454pm (with Confessions) and Benediction afterwards

Confessions are offered at 2:30pm on Saturdays, until Daylight Savings Time, then they return to their normal time of 3:30pm.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is on Fridays from 8:30am to 5pm and on Sundays from 1:30pm to 2:30pm

There are also two Bible Studies starting next week that would be perfect for Lent. Both are in the mornings. One is on the Gospel of John, “Follow Me”, by Dr. Edward Sri and is offered on Tuesday Mornings, 9am to 11am. The other is the “Passion and Resurrection Narratives of Jesus Christ” offered by the Little Rock Scripture Study and is on Wednesdays, 9am to 11am. Both studies will start up the first week of March. Please contact Meggin Sanner at 541-571-8402 or e-mail at ckadultre@gmail.com if you are interested in taking either study as books will need to be ordered.

Lenten Soup Supper

This year the Adult Bible Study groups are hosting one of the Friday Lenten Soup Suppers. It is on March 20th after Mass. All you will need to do is show at the appropriate time, bringing a gallon of soup in a crock pot, help with set-up, serve the soup when Mass lets out and then help with a little bit of clean-up. It is pretty simple and very rewarding. If you can bring a soup and help serve, please let me know, either by posting on here, e-mailing me at ckadultre@gmail.com or just let me know the next time you see me. I will be going around to all the bible study groups as well with a sign-up sheet. Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity. You are the heart of the Church and through your good work, bring Christ into the world. May God bless you always.

Class Cancellations

Just a reminder to everyone during this season of snow/ice delays and closures-
If Christ the King School or Richland School District is on a delay (of any kind) then morning bible study classes are cancelled.
If schools are closed for the day, then all bible studies are cancelled for the day, morning and night. If you are unsure about whether or not your bible study class is cancelled or not, please call Meggin Sanner at 541-571-8402.
Also, it is possible that conditionsĀ worsen throughout the day and only the night classes will get cancelled. Please check on here, on our facebook pageĀ or call the number above if you are unsure if classes that night are being held or not.
As always, if you do not feel comfortable driving on the roads, then please stay safe and stay home. We will make every effort to get you caught up on your bible study if you miss a class.

Coming Home Program

Have you or someone you know been away from the Church? Do you feel out of place at Church, at Mass? Feel like you don’t understand enough about your Catholic Faith to fully participate?

Our Coming Home Program starts with an Information Night on January 20th, 2020 at 7pm. It will be held in the Youth Center on Long St. in Room B (go around to the back door). Here you can come and ask your questions and find out more about the Program in a kind, non-judgmental and open environment. After the Information Night, we will meet every Monday night, in that same room, 7pm-8:30pm, for 8 weeks. Feel free to come to one, to some, or all; each week we will cover a different topic/aspect of the Catholic Faith.

If you have any questions, e-mail Meggin Sanner at ckadultre@gmail.com or call 541-571-8402.

Spring 2020 Bible Study Registrations Open!

Registrations are now available for Spring 2020. Classes will start in January. The following are the classes that are being offered this spring:

Romans– Dr. Andrew Stafford and Jeff Cavins provide an authentically Catholic, comprehensive, and simple way to understand the overarching theme of Romans- salvation. Meets on Tuesdays mornings, 9am-11am in the Gathering Space.

Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John– Dr. Edward Sri will guide you through John’s Gospel and invite you to encounter Christ every step of the way. Meets on Tuesday mornings, 9am-11am in the Gathering Space (offered after the study of Romans is done)

Symbolon: The Catholic Faith Explained– a stunning new video series that systematically presents the BIG picture of the Catholic Faith. Meets on Tuesday mornings, 9am-11am in the Youth Center, Lower Level, Rm B (this is a Moms Group and childcare is provided)

Unlocking the Mysteries of the Bible– Many people want to read the Bible because they know it is God’s Word but give up because it is so complicated. This study program helps you to get the “big picture” of the Bible by showing how fourteen narratives books of the Bible tell the complete story from Adam and Eve to Christ and the Church. Meets on Tuesday nights, 7pm-9pm in the Youth Center, Lower Level, Rm B.

James, Peter and Jude: The Catholic Letters– This study covers four New Testament letters traditionally known as the Catholic letters because each is written to strengthen Christian communities scattered across a wide region of the Roman Empire. Participants will discover that they contain profound differences as well as intriguing similarities. Meets on Wednesday mornings, 9am-11am in the Youth Center, Lower Level, Rm B

Passion and Resurrection Narratives of Jesus– This study compares the particular insights found in the Passion and Resurrection accounts of the four Gospels. Meets on Wednesday mornings, 9am-11am in the Youth Center, Lower Level, Rm B. (will begin once the study on James, Peter and Jude is finished)

To register, you can find the forms in the foyer of the church or you can e-mail me at ckadultre@gmail.com, giving me your name, phone number, and e-mail address, along with the study that you wish to take. Also, please let me know if you are in need of childcare and it is not already provided for that bible study.
